Individual Therapy (Ages 3–18)

Individual therapy provides a supportive space for children and adolescents who may be experiencing emotional, behavioural or adjustment difficulties.

Sessions are tailored to the child’s developmental stage and individual profile, and may incorporate talk, creative and play-based approaches depending on age and need. A neuro-affirming lens is held throughout, recognising differences in learning, attention, sensory processing and communication.

Therapy may support anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, behavioural concerns, social stress, grief, family transitions or school-related pressures. The focus is on helping young people feel more understood, regulated and emotionally resourced.

Play Therapy

Play is a powerful and natural way for children to communicate and make sense of their experiences.

Through creative, symbolic and sensory play, children are offered space to express feelings, process events and work through challenges at their own pace. The therapist follows the child’s lead, creating a consistent and accepting environment where emotional growth can unfold safely.

Play therapy can be supportive for children navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, social challenges or behavioural differences, with the aim of strengthening confidence, regulation and wellbeing.

Psycho-Educational Assessments

Psycho-educational assessments provide a comprehensive understanding of your child’s learning profile and cognitive functioning.

The assessment explores areas such as cognitive functioning, academic skills, attention, memory, processing and executive functioning. It also looks more broadly at potential barriers to learning, helping to identify what may be supporting or impacting your child’s ability to engage and progress within the classroom.

These assessments are often recommended where there are concerns about learning difficulties, attention differences, academic progress or uneven developmental patterns.

Where appropriate, the assessment process can include evaluation and documentation required to support applications for concessions and accommodations within the South African education system. This may include exam concessions, additional time, reader or scribe support, or other access arrangements aligned with DBE and IEB guidelines.

A detailed written report and feedback session are included, with practical, strengths-based recommendations to support your child both at school and at home.

School Readiness Assessments

School Readiness Assessments explore whether a child’s developmental skills are well aligned with the expectations of formal schooling.

The assessment typically looks at early literacy and numeracy foundations, language development, attention and concentration, fine motor skills, emotional regulation and social readiness. It helps to identify strengths as well as areas where additional support or a delayed school start may be beneficial.

These assessments are often requested before Grade R or Grade 1 entry, or where there are concerns about maturity, confidence or learning foundations.

Parents receive a written report with practical recommendations that can support school planning and early intervention where needed.

Bespoke Workshops & Training for Schools

I offer tailored workshops and training for schools, educators and support staff, designed in response to the specific needs of your setting.

Sessions are collaborative and practical, creating space for reflection, discussion and strategy-building that can be meaningfully applied within the classroom. The focus is on strengthening inclusive practice, understanding diverse learning profiles and supporting emotional wellbeing within the school environment.

Workshops may focus on areas such as neurodiversity, emotional regulation, barriers to learning and inclusive classroom approaches, depending on the priorities of the school.

Training can be delivered as once-off sessions, professional development workshops or ongoing consultation partnerships, either in-person or online.
